Stanley Medical Research Institute (SMRI) and Brain Collection
The Stanley Medical Research Institute (SMRI) is a nonprofit organization supporting research on the causes of, and treatments for, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
The Stanley Brain Collection is a widely used resource for researchers trying to find the causes of, and better treatments for, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and major depression.
Five cohorts are available for study; the Neuropathology Consortium, Array Collection, New Collection, Depression Collection and the Parietal Collection.
The SMRI is generating next generation sequencing data for multiple brain areas in the brain collections through international collaboration projects.
